TIRANA, June 25 – Democratic Party (DP) deputy Jorida Tabaku has reacted after the publication of the Fiscal Amnesty by the government for public consultation, calling this decision of the government as “a hostage of lawmaking” that harms the market economy.
Tabaku harshly accused the government of using this bill to hide assets acquired through theft, corruption or other crimes by people who allegedly livie abroad.
“The amnesty of assets up to 2 million euros has no basis and connection with immigrants who have lived and worked abroad for years and who have constantly contributed to their country,” she said in a note posted on Facebook on Saturday. According to her, the fiscal and criminal amnesty makes the money laundering process legal while the country is under close monitoring by MoneYval and a number of other international institutions. “The most corrupt country in Europe, the most corrupt government in Europe whose daily scandals are common, is engaged in this fight against honesty and in favor of corruption,” said the DP lawmaker.
