TIRANA, June 26 – Energy is among the sectors having marked a high growth of foreign direct investment during the first quarter of this year, said the Bank of Albania on Sunday.
The Central Bank announced in a statement that foreign investment in energy reached the value of 48 million euros, an increase of more than twice compared to the same period last year.
According to it, energy leads the growth of foreign direct investment in this Balkan country for years thanks to the major investment in the TAP pipeline, but also other important foreign investment projects, especially in the hydropower field.
The first quarter of this year marked a new growth due to the increased interest in new investments in the diversification of energy sources in the face of the challenges of the time from rising prices in global markets.
So recently there has been increased investment in renewable energy and especially in solar energy sources in recent years.
