TIRANA, September 24 – Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, in New York on Friday.
This was announced by Rama on social networks on Saturday. The announcement was accompanied by a photo of him shaking hands with Nuland, while local TVs have shown footage of the meeting between the two.
A number of issues, including Iran’s cyber aggression against Albania and the joint plan to strengthen cyber defense, and the role of Albania in the region were discussed during the meeting.
The PM announced that he discussed with Nuland the new commercial port of Durrës and the new naval military base.
The energy crisis and the solidarity between the countries of the pro-Ukraine alliance to deal with it were also the focus of the conversation between Prime Minister Rama and the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs.
The interlocutors also touched upon the “Open Balkans” initiative as a platform for peace and the need for substantial progress in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
