TIRANA, May 27 – Democratic Party (DP) Chairman Sali Berisha has said that the meetings of the Democratic Party (DP) parliamentary group chaired by Enkelejd Alibeaj do not have the necessary quorum.
In a conversation with journalists on Friday, Sali Berisha called Alibeaj a “charlatan”, who, according to him, is misused by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“A small group of them, the former chairman and 2-3 of his followers, this Alibeaj and others, caught completely by the government, say that this did not happen. This game ultimately failed as it was a terrible attempt to capture pluralism. Yesterday he said there were 21 deputies in the meeting,” said Berisha. But, according to Berisha, there were 4 deputies in the meeting on Thursday, who did not belong to the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party.
To have a quorum the meeting of the group should have at least 27 deputies.
“But when Alibeaj is interested, he says I have a group of 40 members. A charlatan who has a total lack of respect for himself, is extremely abused by Edi Rama. He forgets that he has had important functions in the government and when he does such acts he only denounces himself,” said Sali Berisha.
In the meantime, Alibeaj responded to Sali Berisha for the accusations on social networks on Friday.
“No outdated form of communication can hide the failure to confront the truth and the free will of the Democrats. The bargains of the old politics are difficult to eradicate from the mentality of those who have been holding the interest of Albanians hostage for 30 years,” said Alibeaj.
He said that the deputies of the DP parliamentary group are not hostages of Edi Rama and his henchmen, but those who are in visible and secret bargains with him, those who have shown a lack of coherence in attitudes towards the Rama government over the years. /Argumentum.al
