TIRANA, June 14 – Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) MP Erisa Xhixho said on Tuesday that the opposition will have a totally different dimension after July 25.
The return of Ilir Meta, outgoing president, at the helm of the SMI is eagerly awaited, said Xhixho who announced the holding of the Convention of this political force on July 25.
Meta ends his presidential mandate on July 24 after 5 years in office.
“This event is definitely expected wi enthusiasm. I believe that Mr. Meta will say by himself what vision comes. It is a valuable factor for the opposition. The arrival of Mr. Meta in the SMI is obviously expected with great enthusiasm. I think that the opposition will have a totally different dimension in terms of approach and discourse after July 25,” said Xhixho. Regarding the SP-SMI relations and if there is a thaw, she said that the attitudes are the samee talking about the invitation to the 31st anniversary of the SP.
” We have fought a very strong battle. We told it (SP) in the eye. I do not believe that the rest of the protocols, the invitations, diminish the attitudes we have about misgovernment,” she said.
According to Xhixho, the ice melts when reflections are seen and she thought the SMI’s attitudes have not changed. “I think the country is served by a strong opposition and it is true that being part of the majority is very simple,” said Xhixho who took part in a reception organized by the Socialist Party on the 31st anniversary of its transformation from the communist Party of Labor of Albania. /argumentum.al
