TIRANA, July 24 – The results of the repeated elections of July 23 for the head of the Rrogozhina municipality confirmed the victory of the candidate of the Socialist Party (SP), Edison Memolla, against the candidate of the “Together we win” coalition, Shkëlqim Hoxha.
According to the data published on the official website of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), the counting of 54 ballot boxes showed the winner of the SP candidate, Edison Memolla.
Memolla received 6658 votes or 57.58% of the total votes, compared to the candidate of the “Together We Win” coalition, Shkëlqim Hoxha who received 4906 votes or 42.42% of the total votes.
Voter turnout was 35.5%, which means that 11,612 voters participated in the vote out of 32,707 registered voters.
CEC drew the attention on Sunday to political representatives and candidates to respect the electoral silence and the solemnity of the voting day.
The Prime Minister, at the same time the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, congratulated the SP candidate for mayor in Rrogozhinë, Edison Memolla, on his victory.
“Rogozhina only goes forward with Edison Memollaj and the Socialist Party,” Rama said on social networks on Monday.
Rama said that after Sunday’s re-election in Rrogozhina, the SP candidate deepened the victory of May 14, where he came out ahead with 21 votes, with a spectacular advantage of 1752 votes.
“Congratulations to Edison and a big bravo to our entire team, which learned the right lesson from the previous competition, engaging and organizing even better, to come much higher in yesterday’s partial election,” said Rama. /argumentum.al
