The Summit of Unity! Think of peace and prepare for war! It’s only the start to the end! Just a pause between two wars!

Peace with war diplomacy! The protest,  image and tourism! Why this silence from the EU Commission and Council? A deal or a pause?

Just kind words  in Tivat! Where is the peace!? A deal yes, peace No!What is happening with USA and  EU?  5 elections but no solution!

IBAR? ”Sufficiently! Much ado about nothing! Shart contrasts in Beijing! Where is the exit?!

Neither peace nor war! Peace with bombs?! IBAR in autumn?! Not another Hormuz in Taivan!

IBAR – a springing board or an obstacle? Can we catch the EU Negotiation train 2027? When the dress makes the news!  EU electoral April  ends in a draw 1:1!

The European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France with flags waving calmly celebrating peace of the Europe. July 12, 2020.

EU 2027 or 2037! Even half membership failed! No exit strategy!

    What next?

“With diplomatic velvet“! Major question marks! In Washington yes, but  in the White House NO! A strange dinner in Brussels!

 REAL POLITIK  FLASH NO. 90

17 – 30 JUNE 2025 With “ flash” comments on 4 major  events in only 1000 words by the prominent analyst,

  DR. JORGJI KOTE

Grand Master in Diplomacy

1.Summit G 6+1  Otherwise it is the Summit of the Seven most developed and democratic states founded 5 decades ago that was held in Canada on 15/16 June.

However, from the Summit held again in Canada in 2018, when President Trump did not sign its Final Declaration, they started to label it Summit G 6 + 1. This was also confirmed in the latest Summit held back there on 15 – 16 June amidst the greatest political, public, diplomatic and media interest, due to the well-known issues crying out for solution. Quite unexpectedly, after the family photo, President Trump announced that he was leaving before discussions started. Without offering any explanation except for ” important affairs” but apparently it was the dynamics of the situation in the Middle East. It is self-understood that in his absence, everything else was useless and the rest of the leaders spent their time with interviews and visiting the country’s attraction in the lofty mountains up there. Therefore, this Summit is now called Summit  G 6 + 1.

2.The historic Summit and Trump show! Yes, the NATO Summit in the Hague on 24/25 June was indeed historic, for there they agreed to increase the defence spending for NATO from 2 to 5 per cent until the year  2035. A gigandic step and momentum in each and every aspect, since this is quasi  triple increase; realizing in this way the Europanization of NATO, so that the European states would become independent in the face of growing Russian threats. For a more concrete idea, its suffice to mention that for Germany this 5 per cent means  225 Billion Euros or half of the federal budget for 2024! An exceptional social and economic burden, which has prokoked tremours in the EU governments. However, as Mark Rutte did also tell to the British, without this major step, you may have a social state and modern infrastructure, but you will have to learn Russian. Meanwhile this is also the fulfilment of Trump’s ultimative demand and the unnegotiable condition for the implementation by the USA of Article 5 of NATO on the collective defence in case of an armed Russian attack.

Meanwhile, the next major concern of NATO leaders was that President Trump would feel quite confortable, not be frustrated and disappointed, so that he could stay to the end of the Summit and not leave earlier as he did in Canada.

Given the above-mentioned political concern and to avoid any inconvinience or political row, the summit was reduced from three days to only 24 hours; with only one plenary session not longer than 250 minutes. Only with two panels devoted to military spending and on military infrastructure. With only one official dinner hosted by the King of the Netherlands, who did also invite President Trump to spend the night in their private luxurious residence and the next morning have breakfast together. And Trump held his much awaited speech on 25 June.

Likewise, the Final Declaration contained only 5 paragrafs from 90 and 40 paragrafs of the same declaration of the Summit in Vilnius and in Washington last year. The NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte justified this saying that it is no necessary to repeat theprevious declarations.

This declaration did also avoid mentioning the Russian aggression against Ukraine, passing with a simple sentence on the continued assistance to Ukraine. Unlike the Uashington Summit, President Zelenski was a side visitor and not a central figure as in Washignton last summit. True, he did attend the Rolyal dinner and met with President Trump but yet without any highlight. Now, all these acts, facts, actors and factors of the “ charm offensive and diplomacy”contributed to the good humor of President Trump and the Summit became a true  Trump Show. Although there were critical remarks that instead of showing emancipation there, the EU leaders displayed vassalism and humiliation, there was no other way out to avoid the worst; for  even the smallest incident with President Trump would have practically marked the end of NATO.

3. Zelenski loses 0:2: This would be result if the NATO and EU Summit on 24 – 27 June was a sport match. In the first Zelenski suffered the first prewarned defeat even though he was not to blame for that. But what was not expected was the “ goal” against him in the EU Summit in Brussels  on 27 June, when Slovakia vetoed the 18th Package of sanctions against Russia. It would have been a great encouragement for Ukraine and Zelenski and a new hard blow against Russia that actually is advancing with moderate but continuous rates the front lines. This is why the score  2 : 0 against Ukraine is very serious and with much more negative effects than a sport match. Because in  sport one can take the revanche easier and quicker, whereas in geopolitics and in the frontline it totally different.

4.Winners and losers of the 12 day war!! It goes beyond doubt that the greatest winners of the 12 day long war Israel – Iran are the USA, President Trump and Israel with Prime Minister Netianyahu. The surprise efficient attacks, the “chirurgical” precision and the briliant military performance avoiding civil victims and innocents were indeed fascinating. Albet their propaganda, the greatest loser is Iran and Mullahs with its “ reserve” armies, the Huths and Hisbullah. But a loser is also Palestine and its cause, for without its role and presence it is hard or even impossible to imagine genuine peace there. Another loser is also Ukraine, since now the attention and military  support of the USA will pass to the Middle East.

Great loser is also the existing World  Order based on the force of law, whch during this 12 day war was replaced with the law of force. Winner is also the doctrine of the balance of powers and division of the world in zones of influence. This is why China and Russia did not make much noise against the USA, since now the Middle East is broadly considered as an important area of US influence. Russia should be satisfied with Europe and China with the Pacific Area. This is how these three world powers intend to divide and rule the world from now on.
