TIRANA – Greece has extended the closure of its border with Albania whose citizens cannot travel to the neighboring country.
A government decision said that Greece borders will be closed at least up to August 14 this year for all citizens of Albania, North Macedonia and Turkey.
But exceptions make Greek citizens and their families as well as persons who have permits to stay in that country.
Albanian state police has announced that only the Kakavija and Kapshtica checkpoints, southern Albania, will be open.
The category of those who can travel to Greece from Albania includes the Greek minority.
Earlier it was announced that Greece would open the border with Albania on July 29, but it has apparently changed its mind because of the unchecked spread of the coronavirus epidemic in its neighboring country. /argumentum.al
