TIRANA – The Belgian city of Antwerp has removed a statue of King Leopold II after it was burned and daubed with paint during “Black Lives Matter” protests during the weekend, said EUobserver on Wednesday.
King Leopold II was the personal owner of Congo until 1908 and is seen as responsible for a genocide of Congolese people.
