TIRANA, July 30 – Jemin Gjana, the head of the Electoral Commission in the group of the Democratic Party (DP), controlled by Lulzim Basha has stated that 18,052 members of this faction of this party participated in the process for the election of the head of the DP.
In a statement to the media about the final results of the elections for the chairman of party on Saturday evening, Gjana published the data of this process after the end of the voting process and the counting of the boxes in all 71 polling centers in Albania.
Lulzim Basha has emerged as the winner of these elections, managing to receive 16,196 votes.
“From the summary of the minutes in 72 branches, 18,052 members of DP have cast their vote out of 25,000 members in total, which means that in relation to the ratio of the list it goes to 71%,” said Gjana.
He said that the data showed that 199 ballots were invalid, 17,753 votes were valid, of which Lulzim Basha received 16,196 votes while Gjergji Hani received 1,657 votes.
“According to the data, Lulzim Basha is declared the chairman of DP,” said Gjana. /argumentum.al
