A considerable amount of money, allegedly counterfeit, was seized at Rinas airport on Friday.
Some 1,750,000 euros have been seized as fake money while the Cameroonian citizen, Josoue Ngankam, 53, with a residence permit in one of the European Union countries has been handcuffed.
In his testimony, Ngankam told police in the presence of an interpreter and his lawyer that he lived in Paris and a person for whom he did not have full generals offered him a job there asking him to bring a suitcase from Paris to Albania against payment of 1,000 euros.
He said that he had no information that there was counterfeit money in the suitcase, because when they handed it to him the suitcase they allegedly told him that there were important documents in it.
The trafficker also said that he passed transit through Istanbul and then arrived in Rinas.
The Cameroonian did not provide details about the person to whom he would hand over the counterfeit euros, as, according to him, he would be accommodated in a hotel in Tirana and the person would come himself to take the suitcase. / www.argumentum.al
