TIRANA, December 7-With 74 green cards raised by the majority, including Prime Minister Edi Rama who went to the session only to vote, the socialists passed the budget and the fiscal package among the rainbow of smokers.
In today’s plenary session, the draft law “On the budget of 2024” and 3 draft laws, part of the Fiscal Package of 2024, were reviewed item by item.
With 74 votes in favor, no votes against and no abstentions, the request of the SP group for the accelerated review of the draft decision “On some additions and changes to the decision of the Assembly of Albania, no. 166, dated 16.12.2004″ was approved. For the approval of the Regulation of the Assembly of Albania’, amended”. The draft decision will be considered at the next session on December 14.
The 3 draft laws of the Fiscal Package were voted on, by article and as a whole.
– Draft law “On some changes in the law no. 61/2012, “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania”, amended”, which was approved with 75 votes in favor, 2 votes against and 0 abstentions;
– Draft law “On some additions and changes to law no. 9920, dated 19.5.2008, “On tax procedures in the Republic of Albania”, amended”, which was approved with 75 votes in favor, 3 against and 0 abstentions;
– Draft law “On some changes in the law no. 9975, dated 28.7.2008, “On national taxes”, amended”, which was approved with 75 votes in favor, 4 against and 0 abstentions.
The three amendments by opposition MPs were rejected! Specifically, 1 by MP Zheni Gjergji and 2 amendments by MP Bujar Leskaj. Gjergji’s amendment was rejected with 75 votes against, none in favor, while Leskaj’s two amendments were rejected with 75 votes against, 2 in favor and 0 abstentions.
The draft law for the 2024 budget according to the variant proposed by the Committee for Economy and Finance was approved clause by clause and in its entirety with 74 votes in favor, 4 against and 0 abstentions.
