In a comment on the public discourse over the issue of curfew measures which have been confusing recently being announced even at late night hours the popular infectious diseases doctor, Pellumb Pipero declared on Sunday it is high time for the reopening of Albania, bringing back normalcy which still lacks in the country. He explained that there are not only economic benefits by reopening, but also psychological and health ones. In addition, sunlight and fresh air help from getting infected from COVID-19 as they improve the immunity, and if someone gets infected then he may recover easily. This reaction of the doctor came at a time when the Albanian government has applied restrictive measures even on this weekend, which caused the irritation of civil society who gathered at Grand Park of Artificial Lake and didn’t obey to the rules for not walking there.
“The virus is still present and the combat goes on. I have emphasized many times that the virus does not stay in the air in open spaces, so I have encouraged and professionally explained why we should be set to open a process which until now has been gradual,” said Pipero. /argumentum.al
