The borders of the European Union will remain closed for Albania at least by the end of July. The EU Council met on Tuesday to discuss about updating the list of countries which will be allowed entrance and travel to the EU, without restrictions.
It is repeated the appeal to the citizens to wear facemask which as from Tuesday is mandatory in closed environments, but observations show that the order is not applied and in addition there is lack of readiness by relevant authorities to monitor the situation in the field.
The general mood of medical authorities and experts is as could be noticed in Tuesday evening’s talk shows on local TVs was uncertain about the progress of the disease with some holding responsible the government for being incompetent.
“The PM has fallen and Albania is in need of a government head,” said the Democratic Party (DP) senior official Tritan Shehu on Wednesday. “In these difficult epidemiological and economic moments Albania is without Premier,” said Shehu, a former health minister. He stressed that the government cannot provide its strategy to combat the virus and the situation is graver that in March-May period. /argumentum.al
