TIRANA – As many as 15 new cases with coronavirus have been confirmed while the opposition Democratic Party (DP) has accused health authorities of hiding the exact number of the infected medical staff during the last days in Albania.
The total number of those infected since the outbreak of the pandemic 12 weeks ago has mounted to 1137, said a medical bulletin distributed by the Health Ministry on Sunday.
According to the information, so far 14,723 tests have been made as most of the areas of the country have reported cases.
Out of 15 cases in the last 24 hours 11 are registered in Tirana, 3 in Kruja and 1 in Kamza.
The bulletin announces also more hospitalizations and currently, 31 people with coronavirus are in hospital in Tirana and 4 of them are in intensive therapy, while only 1 is intubated.
It is considered good news the fact that 15 people were recovered during the last 24 hours bringing the total number of the cured patients to 872.
In the meantime the former DP lawmaker, Bardh Spahia accused on Sunday the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu of hiding the true number of infected health staff.
Spahia was referring to the Ministry of Health’s announcement that out of 35 members of the tested health personnel, only 2 resulted positive, considering this as scandalous and shameless lie.
According to Spahia, who is a doctor, 4 staff members tested positive only in the health center No. 9, the new hotspot of Covid-19 infection in Tirana.
“It is incredible how you can lie so shamelessly, hiding the real number of infected in health personnel!” he said. /argumentum.al
