TIRANA – Albanians should rise up in protests to overthrow Prime Minister Edi Rama. This appeal was made by the veteran leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha in an interview with Syri TV on Monday.
“Albanians should drive him out completely. This is all. Europe spoke out. There are no negotiations with Edi Rama. We should take to the streets and drive him out. This opposition together with Albanians should drive Rama out. Rama is a burned card,” said Berisha in a strong appeal to Albanians to rise up in protests.
Further on he said that the current DP head, Lulzim Basha will be the future PM of Albania.
Asked if he would be a lawmaker again, Berisha said he doesn’t have a concrete project but added that there is no need for a mandate to be present in politics.
Berisha, one of the founders of DP in 1990, has been the first president of post communist Albania and PM. From time to time he has used harsher tones than the current DP head Basha against the Socialist government of Rama.//argumentum.al
