TIRANA, August 14 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Sali Berisha has reacted on social networks regarding the 130,000 euro tender held by the head of the OST, Skerdi Drenova for cosmetic and health treatment for female employees of the enterprise.
The Transmission System Operator is a public company with 100% state ownership established for the transmission system of electricity in Albania. OST was created on 14 July 2004 as a result of the undergoing reforms within the Albanian Power Corporation.
Berisha noted in a post on social networks on Sunday that when Prime Minister Edi Rama steals, the theft becomes a system and his subordinates follow his example. “When all employees of the state administration receive medical assistance (if they need it) from the state, OST employees will receive medical assistance privately. In fact, they have great benefits, despite the fact that they are paid with public money,” Berisha, a former PM, said. “What kind of treatment Mr. Drenova? The OST also paid the health insurance for the state hospitals. Why is such a tender made, when they are insured by the state? Are these state hospitals built only for ordinary people? Or for the poor people?!” Berisha said.
The news on the above mentioned tender has drawn the attention of the public opinion and many social networks have published details of this event.
