TIRANA, August 12 – The permanent mission of Albania to the Council of Europe (CoE) has submitted a verbal note to this organization, informing it about the resolution that the Albanian parliament adopted on the untruth of the accusations listed in Dick Marty’s report, which was approved by that Council in 2011.
The resolution which was adopted with 125 votes in favor from the left and the right by the 140- member Parliament of Albania on July 21 this year the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is officially requested to draw up a new report in which to examine the claims of the official Tirana that the report on organ trafficking compiled by Dick Marty is unfounded.
According to the Albanian authorities, none of the accusations of illegal trade in human organs were proven either in Albania or Kosovo after the in-depth investigations of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
The resolution has been sent to all member and observer countries in the Council of Europe, as well as to all leaders and structures that make up this Council.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has promised that he will personally go to the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on October 10-14 in the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to demand the cancellation of the resolution compiled by Dick Marty approved in January 2011 on the basis of which the charges against 4 former fighters of Kosovo Liberation Army, including ex-President Hashim Thaci, were raised /Argumentum.al
