TIRANA, February 2 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has accused the government led by Edi Rama of investing, mobilizing funds, buying and corrupting people among the most powerful in land in the security field, such as the case of FBI counterintelligence chief Charles McGonigal in a meeting with the heads of Albania’s DP branches on Thursday.
Berisha stated that the only goal of Edi Rama was the destruction of pluralism and the opposition in Albania
“We gather today at a very special moment, at a moment when it has finally become clear to all Albanians, that Edi Rama, whom we rightly, with facts and arguments, have declared for a long time an enemy of freedom, an enemy of voters, enemy of our being,” said Berisha.
DP head considered Rama’s act as shameful and hostile towards the great country of freedom, the country that leads NATO and is responsible for the security of the free world. According to him, this goes beyond any kind of imagination to be done by another power except the enemies of the US and NATO.
But what we, as a pro-Western political force, have as our duty is the immediate removal from power of this man who, with his abuse, has put a knife in the back of Albanian-American relations. “The DP will rise to its feet, until he is removed from power. We have defined as a mission the removal of Rama for the return of the vote of the Albanians. But with the new facts, his removal becomes twice as important, with actions that could only be done by Lukashenko or Putin’s ally, not a NATO ally,” said Berisha.
The opposition has announced that it will organize a massive protest on February 11, which Berisha has compared as a powerful revolution to overthrow PM Rama. /Argumentum.al
