TIRANA, September 9 – The 76th anniversary of the anti-communist uprising which started in Postriba, northern Albania, was commemorated in Shkodra, and the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha attended the event making a speech.
“76 years ago the people decided to respond with armed resistance, with an uprising, to a barbaric regime that would be installed in Albania on November 28, 1944,” said Berisha. He said the offices of the notorious Yugoslav service, which robbed and exterminated the nationalists of Shkodra and the north, were located in the city of Shkodra.
According to the DP head, the Postriba uprising, the first anti-communist uprising in Europe, was an uprising for freedom of patriotic patriots who wanted an Albania free from the communist dictatorship and their Yugoslav masters. “Today we honor the heroic deeds of the men and women of Postriba. Many of them were executed with or without trial for the sole fault of fighting for freedom. Entire villages were burned, over 1,000 or so residents were exiled to barbaric camps,” said Berisha.
Speaking of the current Socialist Party government, he emphasized that PM Edi Rama uses every disaster against the citizens to oppress and steal them more.
Further Berisha said that Albania is again in great danger because it has experienced the establishment of monism, of the power of one party, concentrated in the hands of a bandit, who has no morals and no honor, but steals and robs the citizens. This is Edi Rama who uses every misfortune towards them to crush and steal them more. What did he do with COVID, he took out the tanks. On the other hand he stole taxes day and night and the mortality rate of Albanians skyrocketed. With the increase in prices, he earns hundreds of millions, he cheats them with crumbs. Today again Postriba is in danger, Albania is in danger,” said Berisha, who pledged to defend the ideals for freedom.
“I invite you to continue our resistance until the final overthrow of a fierce enemy called Edi Rama,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
