TIRANA – In the daily update, the deputy health minister, Mira Rakacolli has said the number of the affected persons by coronavirus has amounted to 42.
Speaking to the media on Sunday the senior health official provided details according to which out of the total 26 cases are registered in Tirana while the number of those tested for the virus stands at 532 cases. A map of the distribution of the virus ranks Durres and Fier with 5 cases, while Lushnja, Elbasan and Rrogozhina have 2 cases each.
Some 17 patients are hospitalized in the infectious hospital in Tirana, and three of them are in intensive therapy, while the rest are in a stable condition until now.
Tests of the medical staff have shown that 2 medical staff out of 17 tested had been affected with Covid-19. According to Ms. Rrakacolli, the health ministry repeats the advises among which in cases when affected citizens go to hospitals they should tell if they had travelled abroad alone or with relatives. Also, they should say if they have had contacts with affected persons. Citizens are told not to go to see their affected relatives in hospitals.
Given the spread of the epidemics among fears that public hospitals will soon be unable to cope with the number of patients suffering from the virus the private hospitals are called to cooperate against coronavirus outbreak.
“All private health sectors will have to cooperate in an emergency plan to combat the coronavirus crisis,” said PM Edi Rama in a post in his FB account on Sunday.
Mr. Rama said those who do not abide by the order will be fined up to 5 million Lek and in case of disobedience they will be forcibly become available to public health service. The normative act will be in force until the end of the fight against COVID-19.
“Depending on the dynamics of the hospitalization of affected persons, upon order of the Minister of Health, all private health structures become available, including ambulances and health care staff,” said the government head. /argumentum.al/
