TIRANA – The ink has not yet got dry on the agreement on the electoral reform signed by the Political Council on June 5 and the hearsay on objections against it have come true as representatives of the Democratic Party (DP) parliamentary group warned on Saturday that if there were no open lists in the upcoming elections they would not vote in favor of the accord.
This was made public by the head of DP parliamentary group , Myslim Murrizi who warned that the parliamentary opposition would not vote in favor of the Electoral Reform if there were no open lists.
Murrizi said the above after a meeting of some opposition MPs with US Ambassador Yuri Kim, which was held on Saturday.
“We told the Ambassador that we won’t vote for any bargain. We demand open lists, or otherwise we won’t vote for reform. Our stance is correct and unchanging: Electoral Administration, open lists and the right of vote to emigrants,” said Murrizi. /argumentum.al
