TIRANA – “The government must distribute survival funds and immediately include all families and people in need Without any delay,” has said the head of the opposition Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha in an appeal to the government for supporting people in need for survival.
In a FB post, Basha said the government should distribute what he called ‘survival funds’ for Albanian families and people in need. According to him, such financial contributions must be given also to businesses in difficulty for them to survive in face of the pandemic period. He listed small business, farmers, textiles, manufacturers and tourism as sectors which in dire need for support. “No one must be excluded and the help must be provided without delay,” said Basha.
“Albanians need today the help that belongs to them from the state because they have paid the highest taxes in the region during the last seven years. The government cannot hide itself from its responsibility,” said the DP head, Basha, who lead also the united opposition forces.
For her part, the former DP lawmaker, Grida Duma, a close collaborator of the current party head, focused her attention in a FB post on what is happening at textile manufactures where workers are hit by coronavirus. She recalled the past demand of her chairman Basha addressed to the government to close these enterprises as a preventive measure against the spread of the epidemic.
“We have demanded insistently from the government to take measures regarding the textile manufactures,” Duma said, adding that PM Rama used all his vocabulary not to respond to such a request. According to her, nobody has the right to treat these workers in need as ‘no one’s people’./argumentum.al
