TIRANA, August 31 – The dismissed top police officer, Gledis Nano has attracted the attention of all Albania’s political scene and the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha linked that move undertaken by PM Edi Rama with the affair of call centers run by the latter’s brother, Olsi Rama.
Berisha emphasized in his status on Facebook on Wednesday that Nano was dismissed without any direct major cause, but was the victim of the discovery of new connections with the crime of Olsi Rama and Interior Minister Bledi Cuci.
The gossip spread in the environment of the state Mafia that Nano was sacked because he had discovered and reported on Ardi Veliaj and other police dangerous connections in the police cupola with drug traffickers and large rewards from them, said Berisha.
According to DP head, Nano was cooperating in the investigation by foreigners of the sensitive issue related to Rama clan regarding Olsi Rama’s affair with the call centers in which German citizens lost millions of euros in a fraud scheme from Tirana Call Center.
Gledis Nano and Italian authorities found that the last shipment of 2.2 tons of cannabis was transported by the boat of the sailing club linked with connections of Cuci’s family, said former PM.
“So the Rama-Cuci mafia threw him (Gledis Nano) away like a squeezed lemon,” Berisha said.
