TIRANA, September 10 – The General Secretary of the Democratic Party (DP), Flamur Noka said in an interview on a local TV on Saturday that there is a tendency that Prime Minister Edi Rama does not accept any mistakes regarding the governing of Albania. As far as the public order is concerned, according to him, the former PM, Sali Berisha was to be blamed in the logic of Rama but now the person to be blamed is the former top police officer, Gledis Nano.
Nano was fired over contradictions with PM Rama and Interior Minister Blendi Cuci a few days ago.
“It was used and then thrown away,” said Noka about the case of Nano who served as General Director of Police only ten months although he had the blessing of the US Ambassador, Yuri Kim.
Noka said that nobody today feels safe in the face of crime in Albania.
“What Gledis Nano said – 14 criminals fled in an unknown direction… The state today has surrendered and is in the thaws of crime,” he said. Regarding the new top police officer, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, the DP secretary said that he was a dignified officer, but he did not know how much he had free hands because so far it had turned out that no one had free hands to do the job.
“It’s difficult for me to believe that anything will change. There is no police director who dares to touch the friends of the minister or the prime minister. The situation where there is only a political will means that the police can never resurrect,” said Noka. /Argumentum.al
