Editor’s take
Thank you, Holy Father, for choosing Albania as the first country to bless with your visit after your appointment as Pope. You came and witnessed the love of this long-suffering people, who, even in the darkest times, never forgot their love for God. You came, blessed, and prayed for the many martyrs who gave their lives in His name. You came and touched, with your heart, our religious harmony — the very one you called “religious fraternity.”
Thank you, our Pope, for stepping onto this land — poor in material wealth, but rich in spirit and generosity. Your visit became a symbol of your journey alongside the poor, the forgotten, and the powerless. You were the voice for those who had none.
Thank you, Pope Francis, for not yielding to powerful states and for boldly condemning the killing of thousands of children in Gaza. You were the only one to call this war a genocide. You never stopped praying for them — even on Easter Sunday, just hours before you returned to the Lord.
Thank you for condemning every war and every form of injustice. Above all, thank you for raising your voice against the calls for armament — even in your final Urbi et Orbi message, where you once again emphasized: no to the arms race, no more echo of death. You called for peace, for dialogue, for coexistence.
Thank you for uniting the world even in your passing — from East to West, from Europe to America, and all the way to Asia. Now, may you rest peacefully beside the Father, in eternal light. Your mission on Earth is fulfilled.
Thank you for being among us. You will always remain our good shepherd.
Thank you for being the Pope of the people!
