TIRANA – “We believe that the only way to successfully cope with the aftermaths of the pandemic is through unity and solidarity. Bulgaria has always developed its relations with Albania and other countries of the region through the prism of sincere friendship, cooperation and partnership,” has said Bulgarian Ambassador to Tirana Momchil Raychevski.
The Ambassador made that comment during a ceremony for granting 300 multi-use protective suits, goggles and protective shields to the medical personnel who are on the front line in the battle against COVID-19 in Albania, a statement released by the Bulgarian Embassy on Wednesday said. The use of 300 multi-use protective suits is equivalent to the use of 15,000 disposable coveralls.
The handover ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Mira Rakacolli, and General Director of University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” Enkelejd Joti. Donation of Bulgarian government was done with the personal engagement of Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva.
Ambassador Raychevski underlined that COVID-19 pandemic is a global health crisis which has affected economy and society, and according to him the only successful way to overcome the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic is through unity and solidarity.
In a comment on the Bulgarian- Albanian relations, Sofia’s top envoy to Tirana Raychevski reiterated Bulgaria’s position for developing its relations with Albania and other countries of the region under the motto of sincere friendship, cooperation and partnership. He brought to attention the Bulgarian support to Albania to cope with the natural disasters of the recent years such as the financial aid for reconstruction after the earthquakes of June, September and November of 2019.
In conclusion Ambassador Raychevski expressed the solidarity and sincere appreciation to the Albanian physicians and medical staff who are on the forefront in the combat against the COVID-19 virus. /argumentum.al
