TIRANA – “It was an expected decision,” the judge of Tirana’s Court of Appeals, Fatmira Hajdari said after the Independent Qualification Commission (IQC) dismissed her on Thursday.
The judging panel of IQC composed of Roland Ilia, Firdes Shuli and Etleda Çiftja decided to sack judge Hajdari.
Mrs. Hajdari is the wife of the late Democratic Party (DP) leader, Azem Hajdari, a maverick figure who was killed in 1989. The judge started her career in judiciary in 2003 while she was appointed at the Court of Appeals in 2013
This ruling of IQC comes three days after the hearing session when the members of this body confirmed that judge Hajdari had problems with regard to the justification of her wealth irrespective of the fact that the Inspectorate for the Declaration of Assets had compiled a positive report.
But as it is learned from what IQC said Thursday’s session unveiled an evaluation of the assets in possession of the judge Fatmira Hajdari, who failed the vetting.
In a reaction to the event, opposition MP Rudina Hajdari, daughter of the fired judge, declared in Parliament that “many people are furious towards me saying that I stay in Parliament to protect my mother.”
Among other faults found by IQC was the failure of judge Hajdari to declare that she was refused entry visa to the US two times on the ground of ‘criteria’./argumentum.al
