Russia to Supply European Union with Its Sputnik V COVID Vaccine

Russia is expected to supply the European Union with 100 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine. The supply will take place in the second quarter of 2021, according to a Twitter posted by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on Friday.
That amount will be enough to vaccinate 50 million people. Earlier this month, the Russian vaccine was authorized by Hungary, which became the first EU member state to adopt Sputnik V.
European countries have recently faced some problems with their vaccination plans since Swedish pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca said it would cut its vaccine deliveries to the block by up to 60 per cent while guaranteeing deliveries to the UK.
