TIRANA, August 18 – The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted to the scandal published by the local media according to which the Transmission System Operator (OST) has opened a tender worth 130,000 euros for the appearance of its employees.
In a meeting with the structures of the Freedom Party (FP) in Elbasan on Thursday, Meta described this fact as the climax of stupidity at a time of poverty for Albanian families.
“We have the lowest level of income per inhabitant. It is 50% less than Serbia, while we used to be better than them. We have lower salaries and pensions, but prices and taxes are higher. This is the reason why investors do not come here. They go to Montenegro and North Macedonia,” he said. According to Meta, those who want to launder money, Ndragheta investors and similar ones come to Albania. Regarding the way how the government handles the price of oil it is noticed that the price of oil in the stock market is lower now than it was before the war, while it is at the highest levels in Albania. The Freedom Party has submitted a proposal for the removal of the turnover tax in the country, he said, adding that about 200,000 euros are collected from that tax per year, but the rest 10% of it goes to maintenance and the rest goes to luxury projects.
“The tender for cosmetics for OST employees is the climax of stupidity in these times of poverty and in these times of great social upheaval in the Albanian society and family. The only one which is not shocked is the government,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
