TIRANA, December 20 – “Far from any kind of objection the primaries were the biggest innovation that the DP brought from the foundation until today. They weren’t perfect. Every problem created during them will be analyzed and reflected in our future practice,” said the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha at the meeting of the National Council on Tuesday.
He said that the process will be perfected while he announced that a similar process will be followed in the case of electing candidates for deputies in the general elections.
Berisha touched upon the blow that the government and Prime Minister Ed Rama gave to the Democratic Party.
“Today we are faced with an alternative. This (Rama) seeks to disband the DP and eliminate every democrat who judges politically. He wants to destroy DP and hang a group of hostages called Enkelejd or Lulëzim around his neck. In flagrant violation of every principle he demands that the party that overthrew his fathers be destroyed by this bastard in power. He wants to destroy the DP after its re-establishment, to continue his power as much as nature allows,” said Berisha.
According to him, Rama thinks of alienating DP.
“Rama pays hundreds of millions of dollars to lobby to buy statements in his support, to buy decisions in his support. Today more than ever is the time of honest people and citizens who love this country,” said Berisha, who called on Democrats to protect Albanians’ votes/Argumentum.al
