TIRANA, September 22 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha addressed the Albanians with a strong call to rise in strikes and protests in his speech at the proceedings of the Assembly on Thursday.
Berisha launched an appeal to all Albanian teachers, doctors, small businesses, students, citizens, democrats and socialists, to organize general strikes and protests to escape from this personal regime of a man.
He said that the health system has collapsed and pointed out how Albanians died from the Covid19 pandemic, 250 percent more than in EU countries. Excellent doctors are leaving the country, nurses are also leaving, he said, adding that all this happens because they are the most underpaid, most undervalued people. ‘So which way is left? Strikes, strikes and above all strikes.’
Addressing the small business, Berisha said that the call to every businessman, his children, wives and friends is: to lower the shutters and go on general strike.
He called for a strong movement of students and lecturers as well as state policemen, real policemen, who are not paid for their sweat, who are treated as inferior beings by their bosses.
“I appeal to all employees of the administration: on strike and only on strike. Time is calling,” said Berisha.
In conclusion the DP head said: “Time does not wait. Therefore, this parliament must have its days countered. This parliament has come to an end; since the executive takes over its powers, the parliament no longer exists. You will face the Albanian citizens. This is the solemn pledge on behalf of DP.” /Argumentum.al
