TIRANA, September 14 – The member of the National Council of the Democratic Party (DP), Edith Harxhi, said in a comment on Syri Tv on Wednesday that we are dealing with the much-discussed ‘Muzin’ case, a file which was shamefully closed by the Court of Appeals in Albania.
According to her, they are not just international media reports, but they interviewed a person who was part of the research on this issue and Russian lobbying, Russian money that circulated in 2016-2017.
According to an American intelligence report, Russia has granted money in electoral campaigns in the Balkans, and Albania and DP are also mentioned. At that time, Basha was the DP chairman, she said, adding that all this is related to the Muzin case. “Shamefully it was closed by the Court of Appeals urgently.”
“It was understood that there was an intervention by Lulzim Basha. There was also intervention from the American Embassy. In a way, they were trying to close this issue,” said Harxhi.
Furthermore, the member of the National Council of DP emphasized that in the case of Russian funding in electoral campaigns it is evident that there was a violation of national security in Albania.
“The world situation is complicated. There are several international reports about the Russian intervention in the Balkans, the developments in Kosovo where Russia got involved in what (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic wanted to do – rekindling a war in the Balkans through intervention in the north of Kosovo,” Harxhi said, adding that the situation is also quite fragile in Montenegro.
According to Harxhi, a former deputy foreign minister, funding may have also been made available for the Socialist government of Edi Rama, adding that Basha put a stain on the Democratic Party. /argumentum.al
