TIRANA, September 28 – Deputy of the Democratic Party (DP), Jorida Tabaku, has held a meeting with the special representative of Germany in the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarraz.
In a comment on Twitter on Wednesday, Tabaku said that the integration process, the involvement of the opposition and the 3 draft laws of the government that, according to her, violate the integration priorities were discussed. The laws in question are Fiscal amnesty, Golden Passports, and the legalization of Cannabis.
“We welcome the return of the Berlin Process to our region as an opportunity to continue the integration process in a new phase for Albania and the region. It is time to look for further results and concrete achievements,” said Tabaku.
No mention was made of the Open Balkans, an initiative launched by Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, which is seen by some countries as a substitute of the Berlin Process which, as a matter of fact, has been paralyzed since former chancellor Merkel left office. Merkel was the initiator of the Berlin Process.
