TIRANA, October 23 – Foreign direct investments reached 634.4 million euros in the first half of 2022, or 35.1%, compared to 469.6 million euros in the first half of 2021, according to data published by the Ministry of Finance and Economy on Sunday.
Foreign direct investments recorded the value of 337.1 million euros only for the second quarter of 2022, or 43.2%, compared to 235.4 million euros in the second quarter of 2021, said the Ministry.
During this period, incoming foreign exchange flows in the form of foreign direct investments were mainly concentrated in the hydrocarbon sector at 18%, energy at 13%, financial intermediation at 5%, and communication at 2%.
The data shows that Italy is the main foreign investor in Albania for the first half of this year. /Argumentum.al
