Albania has been gripped by freezing weather which has created serious problems in some parts of the country, particularly in north and northeastern areas.
The Ministry of Defense has informed about the situation of road axes in the country, indicating that the Peshkopi-Lura road is blocked. Meanwhile, it can be traveled with snow chains on Arbri road and on the axis Lure-Rreshen and Xiber-Klos.
Meanwhile, there is power shortages in the units of Kala e Dodes, Rec, Lure, Selishte of Dibra municipality as well as in feeder 6, the administrative unit of Lunik, the municipality of Librazhd.
“The whole territory of the country was covered by a significant drop in temperatures, accompanied by snow and rain. Based on the forecasts of the Meteorological Service, all civil emergency structures in all regions of the country, coordinated by the Defense Agency Civilians have been engaged from the first moment,” said the announcement of the ministry.
Meteorologists predict further drop in temperatures below zero, so the Ministry of Defense calls on all citizens, especially those in remote mountainous areas to be careful, follow the advice made public by the Civil Defense Agency and notify local authorities in case of need.
