TIRANA, July 5 – There was a record increase in Covid infections during the last 24 hours as the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that 974 citizens have been infected in Albania.
There are some days that there is a rising trend of infections which is a different situation as compared to the summer of the two previous years of the pandemic when the number of the infections was minimal.
As usual the highest number of the infected was registered in Tirana with 438 patients registered followed by Vlora with 61 cases and Shkodra with 54 cases. The spread of the virus has covered the entire country as there are no free Covid regions.
Unfortunately, during the last 24 hours, 2 patients infected with Covid have lost their lives. It is about two citizens from Tirana aged 64 and 74.
There are currently 4,235 active citizens with Covid19 throughout the country. 24 patients are receiving treatment at the COVID3 hospital. Some 377 citizens have recovered during the last 24 hours, bringing the number of recoveries to 276,070 since the beginning of the epidemic.
Despite the rapid spread of the virus there is no expressed concern among citizens and the relevant health authorities have not shown any sign of alarm on what is happening.
