The member of the Re-establishment Commission of the Democratic Party (DP), also an MP, Edi Paloka commented on the latest political developments and the local by-elections of March 6 in an interview with a local TV on Tuesday.
Paloka stressed that these elections are not only local for the 6 municipalities of Albania, but are much more political, as Democrats and Albanians will vote for the opposition which will represent them in the future.
“We have asked for one thing to end this crisis within the DP, the vote to be the solution to this situation,” said Paloka, who added that he had told face to face to Lulzim Basha to find a way for the Democrats to decide by vote to resolve the crisis but has never accepted.
Asked about Monday’s statement by US Ambassador Yuri Kim, the deputy said if she took the March 6 election as her bet she made a double mistake.
“She has made a mistake and not a simple diplomatic mistake by flagrantly interfering in this election. It is not the first time that the ambassador has opposed the opposition,” he said. Paloka said that this alleged stand towards Basha is a stand towards PM Edi Rama.
“I also have told Basha that the attack on (Sali) Berisha is not an attack on him but on the DP,” he said. /argumentum.al
