TIRANA, October 27 – The National Council of the Democratic Party (DP) of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha’s group held an extraordinary meeting on Friday evening where its chairman Berisha made the key speech.
“Today Edi Rama controls the executive, legislative, judicial power, the so-called independent agencies, controls the economy with his oligarchs, and controls the media,” said Berisha.
In the meantime it is reported that a draft resolution has been presented to the members of the Council where it is emphasized that the opposition is being treated as enemies while the justice institutions are hitting the minority and not the officials of the Socialist Party who are not affected without the permission of Edi Rama.
Among other things, this resolution emphasized that the opposition MPs are denied their parliamentary and constitutional rights.
“In flagrant violation of the Constitution, they are not allowed to represent and protect the interests of all Albanians, the opposition’s constitutional right to control with Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry is denied,” the resolution said.
In the document, the Democrats call for unity in a single front and start an irreversible battle with the current majority.
Regarding the accusations raised by SPAK against Berisha in relation to the privatization of the former Partizani complex, the opposition MPs said in the document that these accusations, according to them, “are irrefutable proof of the total capture of the justice system by Edi Rama and his hostile attitude towards the opposition”.
Likewise, the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is part of the MPs’ resolution, where according to the opposition, “the socialist government and the country’s prime minister, with their attitudes towards Kosovo, their brutal interventions in Kosovo’s internal affairs at the expense of Belgrade, have severely undermined the national interest, the interest of Kosovo.” /argumentum.al
