TIRANA, April 22 – Over 1,500 people participated and many others were reached out during the Roma Week activities in Albania (04-11 April 2022) under the slogan “History and culture in the spotlight for a better present”.
This was announced in a statement released by the Council of Europe Office in Tirana on Friday.
Thanks to the combined efforts of 34 national and international partners miscellaneous activities and initiatives took place in 15 Albanian municipalities raising awareness on the most prominent institutional barriers faced by Roma minority while nurturing the policy dialogue towards Roma integration and empowerment, said the statement.
The monitoring reports on the implementation of the Local Action Plans for the Integration of Roma and Egyptian Minorities 2019-2022, supported within the frame of the EU/CoE ROMACTED Programme, were instrumental in shaping the policy dialogue and actions among respective stakeholders.
“Their findings and recommendations were also a valuable reference during the Policy Dialogue Seminar on Inclusion of Roma and Egyptian Minorities in Albania,” concluded the statement. /Argumentum .al
