Russian Embassy in Tirana Honors Albanian Martyrs

TIRANA – The Russian Embassy in Tirana has congratulated Albanians on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day. In a Facebook message on Tuesday the Embassy said that
the heroic deed of the Albanian people will be remembered forever by the Russian people.
Every 5th of May Albania honors those who laid down their lives in the National Liberation War against the fascist and Nazi occupations during the Second World War.
“The Russian Embassy conveys to all citizens of Albania the most heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day of the fatherland! The heroic deed, the sacrifices of the martyrs and the valuable contribution of the Albanian people in the destruction of Nazi- Fascism
will be remembered forever by the Russian people,” said the message of the Russian Embassy in Tirana.
Albania was liberated on November 29, 1944 and 28,000 martyrs fell in the war against the successive occupations of Italian fascism and German Nazis during the Second World War. /argumentum.al
