TIRANA, September 21 – The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has commented on the opposition’s accusations about the departure of young people from Albania. He said on Tuesday that the opposition that is ‘crying’ today about the escape of young people, themselves live in villas in Gjiri i Lalzi. Veliaj underlined that Albania is the only country where the opposition lives better and it is enough to see the lifestyle of the opposition leaders to prove that.
“When I hear the opposition crying out for departures, I say: How come none of the opposition has left Albania? You have noticed Ilir Meta and the whole group of Lalzi leave Lalzi and say “it is not possible to live here; Lalzi has become a terror?” Did you notice Lulzim Basha leave Long Hill and say Albania is a horror, I’m leaving? Did you notice Sali Berisha saying ‘I can’t live here by the sea?’ So, for the opposition, this place is very livable,” said Veliaj, who has just returned from a visit to the US.
Veliaj admitted that the government at every level should work every day so that the country is more livable and salaries are higher. But, according to him, those who live in Lalz, have received so much from Albania that their children are educated abroad and have plastic surgery. “Clearly, for the opposition, Albania is a super country, this is an ideal country to be in the opposition because they live ike Pashas,” said Tirana Mayor Veliaj. /Argumentum.al
