TIRANA, October 5 – Iranian hackers have threatened again with the publication of other data and they distributed a message on the “Telegram” network on Wednesday attacking Albanian politics. They have also distributed parts of a report on the Mujahideen who have taken refuge in Albania. They are described as collaborators of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein in this report.
“According to the documents: As you know, and as we have said, the systematic corruption of the rulers is making the Albanian people more confused. Just as former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein used the MEK to kill and oppress his people as his private army, such a fate will surely repeat itself in Albania. Stay alert for further revelations,” the message said as quoted by Syri.net on Wednesday.
For several months, Albania has faced cyber attacks from Iran. First, e-Albania crashed, while later the TIMS system and other police databases were attacked.
On Monday, the hackers released a list of people suspected of being investigated by the police, but they appear to be warning of more data. The biggest fear is the release of data from the MEMEX system. It is about a system where the police have all the data on the convicts, together with the informants. Experts have warned that their publication would cause earthquakes in this Balkan country.
Albania’s highest authorities keep claiming of no harm done by the hackers but facts show that the hackers are stepping up the publication of sensitive intelligent files, and senior Socialist officials are mentioned in them making them get involved by denying the claims. /Argumentum.al
