The Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic Party (DP), Grida Duma declared her resignation from her functions in the party on Wednesday.Duma announced her resignation from the post as DP chairman Lulzim Basha did not consider the request of the majority of the DP parliamentary group for his resignation because of loss in the March 6 local elections held in 6 municipalities.
DP was ranked the third according to the elections results being left behind by the movement of former PM Sali Berisha.”The Democratic Party of Albania is in the most difficult days, the traumas of successive losses are not being recovered because Lulzim Basha uses them and negotiates to turn the failures of the Democratic Party to his profits. After the majority of the parliamentary group urged him with political prudence to take responsible acts and resign, Lulzim Basha used a minority of supporters to hit the MP, the most voted one and the representatives of the Democratic Party. The fact that Lulzim Basha does not step down even after the majority of the parliamentary group demanded his resignation we all should make decisions to save the democrats who sacrificed a decade,” she said.
Although Duma personally, as she said, didn’t have any responsibility in decision-making and had written and documented the harmful decisions, she announced that she is resigning as vice-chairwoman of the Democratic Party, being this only one of the necessary decisions for the Democrats.”The Democratic Party cannot be a loser because the loser must win and benefit,” said Duma. /Argumentum.al
