TIRANA, August 31 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta said on Wednesday that the dismissal of Albania’s police director is not hopeful for an improvement in the performance of the police.
In a statement to the media from the FP headquarters, Meta said that the gangs are connected to the government and the police leaders in the districts are at the service of the ‘renaissance’ policy.
“Everyone knows that the connections of the gangs are direct with the prime minister, that their connections are direct with the ministers and the heads of the groups of deputies according to the regions. This is the reason that not only many police leaders in the districts are in the service of the ‘renaissance’ politics and selected by it only for political, corrupt, electoral criminal purposes, which are not related to the chain of command of the state police,” said Meta.
According to him, no one can be lied to and deceived that the dismissal of Nano can be hopeful for an improvement in the operation of the police and its integrity or the depoliticization of this partisanship institution.
Meta called on the State Police to implement the law and not be used by politics.
“Therefore, it is time that all accountability for the criminal situation in the country for the failure of public order, for the murders that occur in our cities and highways, should be sought in the man who communicates directly with crime, who sits with crime, who motivates it, who has divided Albania into principalities under the influence and patronage of the criminals themselves, exceptionally damaging the functioning of the law and the integrity of the police,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
