TIRANA, November 9 – The Ambassador of France to Albania, Elisabeth Barsacq, spoke in Korça about the fiscal amnesty, recalling the progress report for Albania for 2022. The ambassador said on Wednesday that the report stated 4 times that if the fiscal amnesty is approved, this would not be favorable at all.
Barsacq made a comparison with musical notes, when instead of a ‘la” Albania can give a ‘si’ and this, according to her, would be bad for those who listen.
Asked what will happen if the government does not give up the fiscal amnesty her answer was: “Initially, I did not speak out against the fiscal amnesty, but I hope and believe that you have read the entire progress report regarding Albania.”
The Ambassador addressed the journalists asking them if they had read it. Also she asked how many times the fiscal amnesty was mentioned in that report.
“It is said 4 times in the report that in case of the approval of the fiscal amnesty, this would not be favorable at all. But I, as far as you want to know, I am not the right person to answer,” she said. “Instead of playing a ‘la’, it can be played a ‘si’ but this is very bad for the ears of those who are listening.”
The French ambassador refused to comment on the protest called by the opposition on November 12, saying that she will not be involved in internal political issues. /Argumentum.al
