The State Police reacted on Thursday regarding the news published in some local media on a report of its sent to the US Embassy in Tirana, which claims on the involvement of the mujahideen community sheltered in Albania in the traffic of clandestine and drugs.
More than 3,000 MEK militants have been accomodated in a residential compounds on the outskirts of Durres which is a mysterious place and despite being in the heart of Albania citizens do not know what happens inside it.
MEK had been declared a terrorist organization when they fought in Iraq but they were turned into allies against the Iranian government. After Iraq their center was Paris but apparently Tirana is considered a better place for their activity.
The State Police informed that they have not sent any such report or any other similar one to the US Embassy in Tirana, which talks about the involvement of the MEK group in the trafficking of clandestine or drugs. The State Police clarifies that from the verifications performed, it results that this material has been circulated in order to misinform the community.
