TIRANA, December 19 – “I encourage and support each of you, that all together working in a group as a single team demonstrate that we are capable of criminally prosecuting any violator of the law, regardless of his position,” was the first message of the new head of the prosecution authority for serious crimes, SPAK, Altin Dumani who started his three-year mandate on Monday to his staff.
SPAK has 16 prosecutors and when asked if he would be able to investigate the untouchables, be them of high-level, Dumani emphatically guaranteed ‘yes’! “After these 3 years, the Special Prosecutor’s Office will now move to another phase and that is that of a more aggressive fight against the corruption of officials at every level as well as organized crime,” said Dumani.
The files that have not really received any response are those of sterilization in the Ministry of Health, of the former Partizani complex, of the incinerators with the highest official of the government, Arben Ahmetaj, former finance minister and former deputy prime minister, and the denunciations of former president.
With a SPAK that did not have good relations with the leader of the BKH, and the investigators of the so called the Albanian FBI, Dumani announced a change of course. /Argumentum.al
