TIRANA – Albania’s Speaker Gramoz Ruci has invited his Montenegro’s counterpart Ivan Brajovic to pay a visit to Tirana at a time convenient for him.
This invitation was extended to Mr. Brajovic in a congratulatory letter addressed to him on the occasion of the Sovereignty Day of Montenegro.
“On the occasion of July 13, the 142nd anniversary of the Sovereignty Day of Montenegro, I send you my warmest congratulations. The recognition of Montenegro as the 27th independent state of the world in 1878, was a great achievement of the Montenegrin people and paved the way for the sovereignty and consolidation of the new state, the development and well-being of the Montenegrin people,” said Mr. Ruci in his letter released by the press office of Parliament.
The Albanian Speaker noted that the Republic of Montenegro is today a neighbor, friend and close partner of Albania. “Bilateral relations and cooperation are very good and are expanding and strengthening day by day,” he said.
“Currently. Albania and Montenegro are in the process of accession negotiations with the European Union. Both of our countries are on the right track in their efforts to be accepted into the European family. The progress of our countries in the European path is a contribution to the integration of the Western Balkans and an indication that our region is an integral part of European civilization and an added value of the European Union,” said Speaker Ruci.
In conclusion he expressed his conviction that the successful cooperation between the Albanian Parliament and the Parliament of Montenegro will resume soon and in this frame he reiterated his nvitation inviting
