The State Department has reacted regarding the accusations made by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in the address of the US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim.
DASH said on Tuesday that the allegations against Kim are troubling.
A DASH spokesman stated as quoted by the Voice of America (Albanian service) that Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim represents the leftist president, Joe Biden. Ambassador Kim has been repeatedly criticized for her continued interference in Albanian politics, as she has clearly supported the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, while attacking the opposition and especially former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. There are dozens of articles denouncing Kim’s unusual attitud basin the American media, accusing her of implementing George Soros’ agenda in Tirana.
Responding to VOA’s question about Berisha’s accusations against Kim that she is behaving like a governor in Albania and that she supports Prime Minister Edi Rama, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that “Washington is concerned about unjustified attacks to our ambassador in Tirana.”
“These ugly attacks do not represent the Albanian people,” Price said adding Ambassador Kim has clearly explained and implemented US policies, including President Biden’s determination to hold those involved in corruption accountable. or undermine democracy.
The United States, the spokesman further emphasized, appreciates the relations with the Albanian people and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries will be celebrated next year.
